Real Impact

We launched Amelia’s Friends Foundation in January 2025—and in just six months, we’ve already touched the lives of dozens of families raising children with special needs 🌟.

For families like ours, connection is everything 🤝. It means finding others who understand—who share similar challenges and can offer support, guidance, or simply a kind word. That’s why community has been at the heart of everything we do ❤️.

​

 We’ve organized joyful playdates 🎨🌳 at places like the Philbrook Museum of Art, the Botanical Gardens, and Miss Shelly’s School of Dance—safe, welcoming spaces where our kids can laugh, play, and make friends 🧸👫.

​

One group especially close to my heart is Amelia’s Russian Friends 🇷🇺. Though we come from different parts of the former Soviet Union—Ukraine 🇺🇦, Russia 🇷🇺, Belarus 🇧🇾, Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬—we are united by language and experience. Many are immigrants or refugees navigating life in a new country while raising a child with special needs—often without family or support 😔.

That’s why our monthly meetups mean so much 💞. They’re more than playdates—they’re lifelines. We help each other with school forms 📝, therapy 🧠, doctors 🩺, and afterschool programs 🏃‍♂️. When you’re doing it all on your own, even small help makes a big difference.
